Jon, You've got some good and valid advice here. If the problem should still persist after doing all of this, and if your system supports truss, you might try running the engine under truss using the flag to indicate to follow spawned processes. This might help to determine "which" of the message files is running into problems. One thing to be aware of, the message files contain messages that are being displayed by the engine. When mixing an older and newer product, often you need to make sure that the newer product is added last so that any new messages will be picked up. Madison Pruet
