Tommi I am not sure if this post was answered already by Art Kagel, but it sounds very similar. Anyway what you can do is have one table fragmented across dbspaces based on the month. Also UNION involves sorting the final result set to remove duplicates, which takes time, UNION ALL will not sort the result set, which is what you want since data in each fragment is mutually exclusive.
