Dear all, I have a question for you. Given the following configuration: - One W2K machine with Apache 2.0.40 and php 4.3.1 (from www.php.net) installed and Informix Client-SDK 2.50 (the one that should act like client) - One HPUX 11 system with INFORMIX Version 9.20 (the server) Is my HPUX Release and INFORMIX Version suitable for use with PHP4 ? I would like to create php4 scripts that connect's from the W2K machine to the Informix Server, execute query, etc to diplay formatted data throught Apache. PHP has been configured to use the php_ifx.dll but when I execute a simple script with only phpinfo() to see php configuration I receive the following message: "cant load php_ifx.dll..." I know this file is in the php installation directory under extensions. I can get extension=php_oci8.dll file to load with no problem. The extension path in php.ini is like this: extension_dir = "c:\\php\\extensions" What are the pieces I need to complete the puzzle and where can I get them ? a great thanks in advance to everyone that can give me an help. bye, Gunni Iceland

But I think the problem was the lack of the .dll which you verified to exist. So, I'm betting that the PHP Informix DLL isn't able to load the Informix Client libraries. This can be due to: 1- No INFORMIXDIR environment variable (not sure if this affects Windows environments) 2- No %INFORMIXDIR%\\bin dir on the %PATH% 3- %INFORMIXDIR% with spaces within it (caused troubles in certain environments) 4- %INFORMIXDIR%\\bin too "far down" the %PATH% (seen problems with this also - Oracle client installations puts their dirs at the beggining of th %PATH% 5- Bad Setnet32 configuration Maybe you can use two tools available at http://www.sysinternals.com to debug this. They're "regmonitor" and "filemonitor". With this you can check for problems when trying to locate files or registry entries. Hope some of this will help. P.S.: SDK 2.50 is fairly old.
