I agree that both books are excellent -- the Elizabeth Suto book has been updated to the 7.x release. However, Joe Lumbley's only covers 5.x, and so much has been added to 7.x it's value has decreased. I wrote him asking if he was going to upgrade it, and his answer was no and deferred to the Carlton Doe "Informix-OnLine Dynamic Server Handbook" (which I am about 1/4 of the way through and find very good -- but I sure wish Joe Limbley was updating Survival Guide!).
