Ontape -r failed

I am trying to do a restore of a level 0 backup. It is failing with an error "Physical restore failed - [db_sort ] Invalid DBspace list. I am getting this error eventhough the dbspaces and ids on the backup tape matches exactly to the dbspace list in onmonitor. Any ideas? Marie

If you are attempting to restore the tape to a different server then you should try to match your onconfig params (especially in regards to shared memory parameters) as closely as possible to the original server. Also, if you had copied the informix directory to the new server then you must re-install the software or you'll get some strange errors. I recently spent a couple of days attempting to build a disaster recovery server (fortunately just a test run) and got hung up since I copied the informix directory instead of re-installing.
