The IDS timestamp is just a monotonically increasing number. It is simply incremented each time it is accessed to update a page or data structure timestamp. It is meaningless beyond giving sequence to events. Ignoring 32bit integer wrapping, a larger timestamp indicates a more recent event than a smaller one. Art S. Kagel
