When we do a "top" on our system, we find the following processes: PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND 14646 adm 1 22 0 56M 16M run 256:29 26.52% sqlturbo 29152 adm 1 22 0 56M 28M run 4:45 24.92% sqlturbo 26897 adm 1 31 0 56M 17M run 32:44 23.40% sqlturbo 26866 user1 1 44 0 57M 42M run 0:27 5.94% sqlturbo 28242 user2 1 44 0 56M 17M sleep 0:21 0.79% sqlturbo 26963 user3 1 58 0 57M 24M sleep 0:28 0.42% sqlturbo 27570 user4 1 45 0 56M 29M sleep 0:15 0.33% sqlturbo 27727 user5 1 46 0 57M 11M sleep 0:24 0.31% sqlturbo We are just wondering why the size of sqlturbo is between 56 to 57M. Do you know? Thanks, -- Janet Leung E-mail: jleung@usc.edu ISD USC, Los Angeles, CA 90089-0251

Do you > know? Sure SIZE includes any shared memory segments to which the process is attached. I'd guess that the tbstat -p reports the shared memory size of your instance (upper right of the header line) as about 50000 Kbytes. Not to worry all those sqlturbos are sharing the SAME 56M (or at least most of it). Art S. Kagel
