Yes it can be used, and no it doesn't do windows... here's what you need:
- the frontend

- the application framework
http://www.4glworks.com/dnld/4glworks-2.0b12f.sh.Z
- the DB2 source (Informix is built in)
http://www.4glworks.com/dnld/sqsldb2-0.9b.sh.Z
- an IBM Informix 4gl compiler of some description.
I have to be honest, people don't find building this tool particularly
straight forward, but it's not too complicated if you just read the readme
(which you can't miss as the shell archive will page thru it after having
extracted all files)
I will get round to converting to configure/make/make install, some day
