Bridget, The SQL syntax used to create the (SMI and onbar) tables is stored in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/ files: * sysmaster.sql * sysutils.sql The "supported" tables and views are described in the following Informix manuals: 1. Administrator's Guide for Informix Dynamic Server (SMI tables) 2. Backup and Restore Guide for Informix Dynamic Server (OnBar tables) 3. Informix Guide to SQL: Reference (System Catalog) If you limit your queries to supported tables and views, they should continue to work after you upgrade to newer Informix versions.
