Database Administrator's Salary

Everyone: Thanks for all your help. I've listed about 70% of the replies I've recieved. The results haven't changed with the later replies, so I haven't included them. Also, not many people listed whether they were contract or regular employees; however, of those that did list themselves as contract, the salaries were in the $60-75k range, right in the ballpark with the senior DBA's. Consultants generally charge between $50/hr and $75/hr. The final calculations show that the average salary for a DBA is $42k, +/- 7k. In other words, you are doing about average if your salary is between $35k and $49k. I was suprized to find that salaries do not vary greatly across the country. Salary has more to do with the size and complexity of the job. As to foreign markets, Germany and Switzerland seem to be paying the big bucks, about 20% higher (in US dollars) than in America. I must add that no country other than the US sent enough replies to even bother with calculating a mean or standard deviation. I've listed the foreign replies below the US lists, for interested parties.
