Do pf_getval()/pf_putval() still work ?

I've got some C code which was written a few years ago (for Informix 2) which seems to use pf_putval() and pf_getval() to insert and retrieve values from fields on a form. I'm converting the code to use esql, but get core dumps when these calls are made. I suspect that the function signatures may have changed. Sample code as follows: if (ct == 1) pf_putval (course_code, CCHARTYPE, "pcrse1"); else if (ct == 2) pf_putval (course_code, CCHARTYPE, "pcrse2"); Any ideas or pointers ?
