Communicating between Databases and GLS
Posted in 1997
I want to communicate from Informix Online 7.20.UC2 database to my SAP R/3
(release 2.2f) Informix Online 6.00.USAP2 Database.
The 7.20.UC2 database is on a Sun box running Solaris 2.4
The 6.00.USAP2 database is on a RM600 running Sinix 5.42
When I set DBNLS=2, I can connect to my 6.00.USAP2 database with dbaccess
from my 7.20.UC2 database, so I figure that my sqlhosts is set up
correctly. What I am unable to do is query the 6.00.USAP2 database from
within a database on my 7.20.UC2 machine.
If I try, dbaccess says:
7203: DBNLS is not set or LC_COLLATE must be 'C'.
117: ISAM error: bad custom collating sequence.When I set:
DBNLS=1
LC_COLLATE=C
It doesn't allow me to run dbaccess until I set:
DB_LOCALE=en_US.819Then it gives me the same message as before?
My 6.00.USAP2 database environment is as follows:
DBNLS=1
LC_COLLATE=C
DBLANG=msg
LC_CTYPE=De_DE.88591
I have tried various combinations of LC_CTYPE and LANG on my 7.20.UC2
database with no success. Any help would be appreciated.
