another ms-sql -->informix question

We are runing online engine 7.23 on an data general dg/ux box , and an MS SQL server 7.0 on an NT-box. What we are trying to do is to write an informix program ( using R4GL) that reads data from an ms-sql server table and updates informix tables with it . Has anybody done that , and what tools have you used . TIA Ralf Peters

You could probable write an ODBC module in C to interface with MS-SQL and link it into the 4GL program with no problem. Also Informix has a gateway product that MAY allow the 4GL to see the MS-SQL database as native. Check with your Informix sales office. Art S. Kagel
