The rootchunk contains the names of the files that you are currently using for the database, their offsets, and the size of the files. Somply moving the root chunk will not cause this information to change. Generally we strongly try to encourage that the database chunks not use the physical name. Rather we encourage the use of soft links to the physical location. If that was done, then moving the physical files would simply involve copying them and changing the links, because the rootchunk would contain the links and not the physical file names. If you are trying to move cooked files to raw devices, then you could also consider setting up links to the raw devices, using the same file names that you are currently using for the links. However, you must still use the same offsets and sizes that the cooked file is using. If neither of these are the case, then I'm afraid that you will need to unload/reload the data. If you have to go to that extream, please let me suggest that you use soft links when you re-establish the chunks. Madison Pruet
