Informix DBA

One of our clients is offering a contractual position for a Informix DBA. The client is in the Private sector. Travel to US is required. The estimated start date is immediate. The position requires: The incumbent leads others to complete complex project tasks or larger projects, related to Database Support operations. Responsibilities include installation of database software, maintenance and tuning, backup and recovery, and design and modeling of relational databases. The incumbent exhibits solid analytical expertise, business judgement, and communications skills in reviewing risks and alternatives and presenting recommendations to management. The incumbent coordinates and leads the efforts of more junior staff to design and enhance existing technology, operations, processes, and systems to maximize productivity and quality. Data warehouse experience is essential. Database design and tuning, and logical and physical database modeling experience is required. Candidate with Informix XPS Database Administration experience is preferred. VLDB and Sun Solaris experience is preferred.
