Hi, folks! I'm a long-time Oracle & DB2 DBA veteran but an Informix newbie. I need to architect an Informix Web application. Informix appears to have various overlapping solution sets for this. Universal Web Connect Web Integration Option Data Director for Java/VB, etc I want a pure java solution. My database will most likely be an online dynamic server on IBM SP2/AIX. Here are my questions: 1. What has your experience been with the above products, in particular data director for java? performance, robustness, etc? 2. DD for Java ( at least the evaluation version) appears to only support a Solaris or NT RMI server. Is AIX a supported RMI server platform? 3. If not, can the RMI server be on NT and the database server on AIX? 4. Does the RMI server talk to the database server via JDBC and thus can I later replace the database server with any other ODBC/JDBC compliant database? 5.
