IDS far from "dead"...

First as it was already pointed out, IDS was never ported to I-Series aka AS400. Maybe if they had, I series wouldn't be hurting as much as they are. IDS is definitely low maintenance and with each new release, the cost of maintenance is getting lower. So if you wanted to create a "business in a box" solution, IBM should have moved away from DB2 on AS400 and put IDS in there instead. In addition, if IDS were on its "death bed", why are there DB2 support types posting and reading here? Right Jan? Or did you retire from IBM? ;-) Oh yeah, I do know where all of the skeletons are hiding . ;-) _________________________________________________________________ Mortgage refinance is Hot. *Terms. Gumby, You assert that iSeries is "hurting". What proof do you have that this is true? -t- Ian Michael Gumby wrote: > First as it was already pointed out, IDS was never ported to I-Series > aka AS400. > > Maybe if they had, I series wouldn't be hurting as much as they are. > > IDS is definitely low maintenance and with each new release, the cost of > maintenance is getting lower. > > So if you wanted to create a "business in a box" solution, IBM should > have moved away from DB2 on AS400 and put IDS in there instead. > > In addition, if IDS were on its "death bed", why are there DB2 support > types posting and reading here? > Right Jan?
