I=B9m looking for some advice for setting up an inexpensive server to act as = a non-real-time clone of my production DB server. My production box is running IDS 64bit 10.00.FC5 under HPUX, I=B9m looking to setup an inexpensive Linux DB server because of performance load coming from reporting applications like Cognos Impromptu and Cognos Report-Net. Is there a 64-bi= t version of IDS 10.00.xC5 for Linux (RedHat EL5 64bit)? Would I be able to use =8Conunload=B9 and =8Conload=B9 to transfer small DB=B9s between HPUX & Linux wit= h the 64Bit IDS xC5 systems? I=B9m not sure if it=B9s possible to setup Data Replication between 64bit IDS 10.00.FC5 and 32-bit IDS 10.00.UC5. Thanks in advance. Jonathan B. While you can replicate across different platforms - you cannot replicate across DB versions. You will need a 64bit platform to replicate to. That said, I built a decent box from scratch based on an AMD Athlon, ASUS MB, 2GB RAM, 640GB SATA3 disk for about $1000. j. >From: Jonathan Smaby <Jonathan.Smaby@pomona.edu> >Date: 2007/08/15 Wed PM 03:30:04 CDT >To: ids@iiug.org >Subject: Advice needed on inexpensive DB-clone server f.... You can do that using ER (Enterprise Replication) in asynchronous mode. Art S. Don't know about asynchronous mode ER but I think for ER primary key must be on tables to be replicated.
