I think you just have to use your volume manager or 'prtvtoc' to make slices of 2GB and use them to place your chunks. Didn't I understand something ? Are you familiar with Solaris? Although I've not used it beyond 2.5, it's not possible with its disk-slicing tool to create more than 8 slices on a disk, and in fact by convention the upper limit is 7. Neil
