INSERT & UPDATE TRIGGERS ON SAME TABLE

Hi, I execute a trigger to log the record that is being updated on table A --- 1 I also execute a trigger when I insert a record on table A. This logs the record. --- 2 My question is can I do an update on a certain field to the record that is being inserted on Table A in the form of a stored procedure when I am executing the trigger stated under 2. I want to update a field in Table A for the record that is being inserted. My problem is during an insert I have to update the record and also log the record.
