RE: 397 Error

The obvious first question is what did Informix Technical Support tell you
to do? They are the best place for these types of enquiries.
It looks like something is corrupt in the system tables. You dont say what
engine type or version you are running... but run bcheck or oncheck on the
entire database and determine whether this fixes any problems and
eliminates this problem.
If this is not corrected then export the database and import it again,

Subject: 397 Error
Have any of you all seen this error before? It happens when I hit one
particular table...
397: System catalog (sysobjstate) corrupted.
111: ISAM error: no record found.
dad [2:02pm] [60] ~> finderr -397
-397 System catalog table-name corrupted.
This internal error should not occur. The database server has
encountered something in one or more of the system catalog
tables that
violates integrity constraints. Run the tbcheck or oncheck
utility (for
OnLine) or the bcheck or secheck utility (for INFORMIX-SE). If
the
error recurs, please note all circumstances, and contact the
Informix
Technical Support Department
Thanks for your input,
