In article <3ui5v5$bhh@status.gen.nz> you wrote: : Has anyone got a copy of SCO Informix running on LINUX ? I have a copy : (legit !) of Informix Turbo and ESQL/C but no operating system. SCO : development is sooo expensive ... Yup, it does work. You do need the most recent iBCS emulator off of tsx-11, and the shared libraries either from an actual SCO machine (or an ISC machine). I believe (but don't know for sure) that there is now a set of shared libraries that can be had from tsx-11 that someone has built to replace the need for the SCO original shared libraries. I currently have OnLine v5.01 running along with RDS. The only thing that can't be done easily is build COFF binaries while under Linux (ie, ESQL/C or i4GL). I received a message from another user that says he has found a way to do this, but haven't heard back on this issue yet. For the moment, the easiest way to make ESQL/C and i4GL programs is on an SCO or ISC machine and then ship the binaries back to the Linux box. -- +--------------------+----------------------------+--------------------------+ | Michael Faurot | mfaurot@phzzzt.atww.org | I don't like | | ------- ------ | | lima beans!! | +--------------------+----------------------------+--------------------------+ | The truth is only an excuse for lack of imagination. | | Never tell the same lie twice. --Garrick (Deep Space Nine) | +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- +--------------------+----------------------------+--------------------------+ | Michael Faurot | mfaurot@phzzzt.atww.org | I don't like | | ------- ------ | | lima beans!! | +--------------------+----------------------------+--------------------------+
