It isn't supposed to do so. They are undocumented. They are deliberately undocumented, not least because they change, regularly. The 7.2 set is different from the 7.1 set, and from the ClientSDK set, and from the 5.x set, and from the 4.x set. So, there's a good reason why they're undocumented. > You can see > these methods defined in "sqlhdr.h" file for HP-UX 10. > > It is pretty easy to guess what they each do but I > would like to know the details. No, you don't. You might currently think you do, though I hope I've re-educated you with the comments above, but actually you do not want to know about the details of those functions whatsoever. They are 100% changable, and therefore cannot be relied upon. They might even change within a point release; unlikely, but the possibility is there. Because they are not documented, this causes no problems to those who use them correctly, via the ESQL/C statements which call them, but it can and does cause problems to those who use them incorrectly. As a f'rinstance, 2.0x D4GL did not work with ClientSDK precisely because it made unwarranted use of the _iq* functions, and the knowledge it used was not accurate for the ClientSDK versions of the _iq* functions.
