Informix 5 and 6 for DOS

We currently run Informix-sql 4.1 and Informix-SE 4.1 on a number of stand- alone 386 PCs under DOS. When we upgraded from version 2.1 we had a number of problems getting 4.1 to run smoothly. We are now considering whether to upgrade to informix 5 or 6. Is there anyone who has tried running versions 5 or 6 on 386 PCs?
