You can normally build a custom runner with 'ld'. It is available on most machines even if there is not a C compiler since it is used to rebuild the kernal. ---- original message from Peter Wiley ---- ++ ++ In article <6868.365.uupcb@digitec.co.za> billy.wheeler@digitec.co.za (Billy Wheeler) writes: ++ >-> Why dont you write a 'C' function and call it from your 4gl program ? ++ > ++ >It's too much like hard work! :) ++ > ++ >billy.wheeler@digitec.co.za ++ ++ Also, as has been said many times, us developers have no control over end ++ users' choice of platform and availability of C compilers. ++ ++ this also rules out building custom runners. ++ ++ Peter Wiley ++ ++ -- Jerry M.
