Hi All, I have an ESQL/C software, which gets successfully intalled on HP Itanium machine, but when I try to install the same in HP PA-RISC machine with UX 11i, it throws an error as "ar: warning: the file is from an incompatible architecture ar: warning: the file is from an incompatible architecture" The Release doc mentions that it is compatible on IDS 9.3x & 9.4x, but does not mention about the HP hardware details. Please let me know regarding this Itanium sofware won't run on other types of chips - including specifically the PA-RISC chips - nor vice versa. This is generally true - although it is possible to emulate IA32 (Pentium) architecture on Macs (PowerPC), it requires special software to do so, and it runs slower than the native code for the same job would.
