Kate no, it won't, directly anyway. as chris wrote, it depends on the space available in your chunk. remember that when two extents are written physically contiguous to each other, the server combines them into one extent. so if when you cluster your index, and your table is rewritten, there is enough space to write the table out in one, long contiguous space on disk, then the server will treat that as one extent. it would also be a good idea, as mentioned by chris i think, to change your next extent size so that additions to the table are handled properly. hope that helps. mickm
