help newbie with share memory problem

Hi all: This is my first time installing informix database server, I am not sure what the problem is. I am running sunos 5.5.1 on sun ultra-2. Installed informix online 723, everything went fine. did all the enviorment variables stuff, did sqlhost and onconfig.learn file, when I do a oninit, I got: oninit: Fatal error in shared memory creation Could someone please tell me what this means and how to fix it? thanks so much.
