Yes, they are a competitor of Informix, and they would be happy to sell you a complete database solution. HOWEVER, at the last sales pitch I attended they *claimed* to have broken their product set into three "pieces": front-end, communication, and back-end. In theory their front-end and communication products will connect to ANY database engine as back-end. I have not seen this claim verified thru a demonstration; at the sales presentation they used Sybase thru-out. But at least Sybase is addressing the issue of accessing multiple databases thru a single front-end; so this info may be of use to you.
