We have just migrated from IDS 7.31 on Solaris 5.6 to IDS 11.50 on Solaris 5.10. In the past, we have had a cron job that updated statistics regularly. I thought that I read that 11.50 does this automatically now, but I am not sure how. What are the recommendations? Can we just eliminate the cron job and assume that IDS 11.50 will take care of everything automagically, or do we need to leave the old update statistics cron jobs in place? If we rely on the automatic characteristics of 11.50, is there anything that we need to set up? Larry
Mr Larry, The easiest way to follow the new AUS execution is using the OpenAdmin Tool, that reports you details about the statistics pattern, and you can even see the AUS logs to monitor its executions. We here had some particular troubles running the AUS feature, so we disabled it on our OLTP system, but it was regarding the sysadmin database records, if you put your sysadmin database on a bigger dbspace it´ll work just fine, I think.
