One quick thing to check: With 2 processors, you should NOT configure Online to run in multiprocessor mode. Set your parameters to indicate you are on a single CPU machine and run only a single CPU VP. The overhead of coordinating multiple CPUs outweighs the advantages on a 2 CPU system. Gnerally the recommendations I have seen suggest configuring Informix as if you had one less CPU than you actually have. Other than that, there's lots of things to look at in terms of configuration parameters which just were not an issue in 5.x. I've never actually experience Informix on a K-class machine, but on other single CPU HP9000s I've seen, performance has been at least comparable to 5.x and in some cases MUCH better.
