Use top to identify rogue applications. Of course the DB work is all
done by threads, so no processes except oninit, which should be on top.

If DBA with Informix was easy, everyone would be doing it! :-)
Try:
onstat -g act -r 1
This will give you thread numbers that you will have to track back to
session numbers.

Is there such a thing as a bad program, or are there just bad
programmers? ;-))
