Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Dear all,
I am having problems connecting to an Informix using Intersolv ODBC on a Sun
Solaris 2.5.1 system.
I have been told that I needed to install I-Connect so we did that. That is all
of the Informix software that we have installed on the client system. (Might
there be something else that we need?) Unfortunately I don't have any Informix
client program to test the I-Connect setup independently of ODBC.
Using the demoodbc program to test the ODBC setup with the command line
:-
demoodbc -uid <username> -pwd <password> qeinf7
I always get an error from the Informix layer saying
.....[Informix] Connection does not exist.
I think the Native Informix error number was -1803.
I include copies of my .odbc.ini and sqlhosts files.
If you think you can spot something wrong with my setup please contact me - I
have been racking my brains over this one all day and got nowhere.
