Yes. Most folk don't configure it that way in case there is a network glitch, but even without the connection manager it was possible and I've run server pairs that way and had them fail over. With the connection manager overseeing the failover - given its multiple connections to all servers - spurious failover is no longer a concern and automatic, seamless failover using Informix is a given. Especially with the CSDK v3.50 which automatically reconnects your applications to another server if the one you are connected to goes down (our application has to know to reprepare statements and how to recover from a failed transaction, but it's easier than ever and about to get easier still.
