I don't know what Informix was thinking. *although* pdqpriority=100 will lock out any other pdq users until the current query finishes. so if you have a giant query that might run for hours, then even a query that needs very little resources will be shut out until the other is finished. pdqpriority=80 or 90 is better, in that it will give other, smaller queries a chance to at least sneak in, while giving most of the resource to the big guys. > Ignore the manual.
