OnBar and XBSA Libraries?

Excuse my ignorance but should onBar work straight out of the box if I just want to backup to a file system. We are running 9.13 on Solaris 2.5.1, firstly I had the error "Could Not find XBSA Library /usr/lib/ibsad001.so", surely out of the box it should use the default simple libraries which are supposed to be supplied. Any help greatfully apreciated.
