background process taking forever

Hi Guyz, I have a process running through cron which after 18 hours has only gotten two seconds of CPU time. When running the same process from a terminal it gets about three minutes CPU time. Any ideas why? austin

Get your sysadmin to log in as root and renice it. Cron runs at a very low nice priority as do its children. Art S. Kagel PS: wrong forum.
