SELECT SUM over float values

Hello, all - I've encountered a peculiar problem using Informix on an NCR UNIX system, and thought that someone here might be able to help. Essentially, I've got a table with a column containing floats (that's the SQL float type, equivalent to a C double). Using ESQL/C version 5.02.UC6, I can select individual values just fine. However, when I try to select a sum of the values in this column, and get a *strange* answer that's off by several orders of magnitude. The same SQL statement works when entered into ISQL (version 4.12.UE1). The pertinent system information is: NCR System 3455 running UNIX SystemV/386 release 4.0, and the C compiler is NCR System 3000 AT*T C++ Language System 1.14.03.
