Release 14.10xc4
Posted in 2020
Milind Tamaskar announced Informix 14.10.xC4 was delayed from June 11 to about June 23. Tiago Santos could not find the Innovator-C installer jar for xC4; it turned out to be available, and an old unzipped file was the cause. Art Kagel and Milind said W releases are full production releases. Milind added 14.10 fixpacks are only on Passport Advantage.

Hi all, Developer Edition 1410FC4 is already available for download, do you know when Informix Innovator-C Edition Installer 1410FC4 will be available? Thanks, ------------------------------ Tiago Santos ------------------------------
Tiago, Unless this is Innovator-C for on Docker, IBM Informix 14.10 and above is distributed only on DEVELOPER EDITION, then you transform Developer Edition to any other edition applying the license key for the relevant edition Look for the " Informix Developer Edition License Installer" In passport advantage Eric Vercelletto KandooERP Founder and Community Manager www: https://kandooerp.org IBM Champion 2013,2014,2015,2016,2017,2018,2019,2020 Mob : +33(0)626 52 50 68 skype: begooden-it Google Hangout: eric.vercelletto@begooden-it.com Email: ericv@kandooerp.org
Hi Eric, I was talking about Inovation c- Edition jar file, need for setup, transforming Developer Edition to Innovator C-Edition. During the setup of Developer Edition, i need to have the Innovator C-Edition Jar file for the same version of Informix i'm setting up. The Innovater C Edition jar files (licenses) are available just for xC2 and xC3 versions. Thanks ------------------------------ Tiago Santos ------------------------------
Yes it appears the Innovator edition is missing at the free download site. I have asked the IBM team to look into this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. ------------------------------ MILIND Tamaskar ------------------------------
I was told that the checked item includes the latest version. ------------------------------ MILIND Tamaskar ------------------------------
Milind: What does "Multiplatform" mean though? Does that include executables for all CPUs and OSes? Art ------------------------------ Art Kagel ------------------------------
Hi Milind, Yes it works, as they told to you. Thanks a lot. Probably after downloaded the file, i didn't unzipped correctly, and my folder keeped the old version of the file that only support xC 3. Best Regards, ------------------------------ Tiago Santos ------------------------------
I have questions about how "W" releases work, or their full intent. Are "W" releases intended as full and complete releases? Are they suitable for Production applications? Or are they intended as a temporary fix/workaround for some unexpected issues that arose after the preceding XC* release, and thus a new XC release is imminent? I am uncertain whether to proceed immediately with 14.10.FC4W1, or wait for a new 14.10.FC5. Thank you for any clarification. Regards, DG ------------------------------ David Grove ------------------------------
"W" releases are bug fix releases that span multiple platforms. "X" releases are generally platform specific or special build bug fix releases. "W" releases should be adopted. Art
David, W releases are full production level releases. The W marker is used to correct a defect in the xC4 release found soon after it was posted. No need to wait for xC5. Hope this clarifies. ------------------------------ MILIND Tamaskar ------------------------------
Thank you, Art and Milind. DG ------------------------------ David Grove ------------------------------
It looks like IDS 14.10 fixes are not available through FixCentral. Where's the correct place to download them now? UPDATE: I was able to find it in passport advantage, but it took a bit of hunting. The FixCentral interface was a lot friendlier for finding the right version. ------------------------------ TOM GIRSCH ------------------------------
Tom, With 12.10 we put PIDs (.xCxW1) only on fix central and fixpacks went to both fix central and PPA. With 14.1 fixpacks go only on Passport Advantage site. ------------------------------ MILIND Tamaskar ------------------------------
