Using dbexport & myexport with Dirty-Reads

Good afternoon IIUG,
I have quick question. I'm using Art's program 'myexport' and sometimes I use
'dbexport', however, both program complain about locked tables, and often skip
them in the export cron-job that I use. Is there some environment variable, or
something else I can specify, when using either program to use Dirty-Reads to
solve the locked table problem?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Sincerely,
Jonathan B.
