Future of Informix 5?

Dear Informixers, does anyone have well-founded information about the future of Informix version 5? At a meeting this week at our institution, a representative of our Informix OEM partner (SNI) claimed that Informix 5 was to be discontinued and urged us to update to Informix 7. Is this just a rumour or is there truth behind it?
