dbimport
Posted in 1998
Hello,
We are having an unusual problem with our informix server.
Whenever we do a round of system testing we drop the systest DB
and recreate a baseline DB using dbimport as follows:
dbimport systest -l -d ol_devona
We then run our upgrade program which executes various create
table and alter table statements to upgrade the database from the
baseline to the current version.
The problem we have is that on the first run of the upgrade
program we get a -625 error (Constraint already exists) usually on a
create table statement.
Our base line scheme does NOT have the tables that produce theerror and if we just re-run the upgrade everything runs fine.
I can only presume that Informix has buffered the database
scheme somewhere and doesn't flush it until the error occurs?
Does anyone know how I might confirm the above?
Is there a way to flush this buffer after we drop the old
database?
Our system is INFORMIX Dynamic Server 7.30 TC3 for NT running on
a Dual Pentium system
Cheers
