How many Instances .... ?

What might happen regarding performance degradation suppose if I have a 6 CPU machine with sufficient memory and running 4 Informix7.1 instances configured as follows: instance_one : 1 CPU VP instance_two : 1 CPUVP instance_three : 3 CPU VP instance_four : 5 CPU VP ? Each has its own configuration files, temporary dbspace and etc.etc. And, all instances are running at the same time ! Any help will be highly appreciated. Thaks.
