NVL Question
Hi,
I have an NVL Question in Informix 7.3 on Sun.
If I have a table as:
create table mytable1( col1 varchar(255));and then :
insert into mytable1 values(null);and I do :
select NVL(col1,"Null Found") from mytable1;
I get : (expression)
<--- no output
But if I have :
create table mytable2( col1 varchar(255,0));and then :
insert into mytable2 values(null);and I do :
select NVL(col1,"Null Found") from mytable2;
I get : (expression)
Null Found
In summary, if I have a varchar without a minimum space
defined, NVL does not appear to work correctly.
So, is this expected behaviour ? A Bug ?
