Hi, David. I asked a question like this last week too and got nothing helpful back. Neither from here nor from Informix or other specialists I asked. For my client company I found a solution. But I dont know if it helps in your case. Server system is SCO here. Here the situation was that they still have some old SE 4.1 Servers in the network - no idea why, some old, old sales applications are running on them forever now. And yes, they also would like to run Crystal Reports and some NewEra programs against them. Its funny but it is enough to start a Version 5.x sqlexec deamon instead the 4.x one. It will work with the version 4.x database files without complaining. For me this is perfect because I dont have to reinstall about >10 database servers and the company I work for has the later Informix licenses anyways.
