I'm using the WINGZ spreadsheet calculator with Hyperscript/Datalink on a UNIX-PC using X11/Motif: It's quiet easy if you have INF-SE or a local backend 'cos you can use the built-in menu - functions for selecting databases, tables and rows and for updating. As soon as you use a network Datalink might get con- fused with the tables' owners name; in result most of the menu - functions become useless. But you can use Datalink commands in Hyper - Scripts, it's just a little more work to do... The Datalink command interface doesn't implement row pointers (the menu does !), so you might get problems when updating particular rows. This could be solved by a modified table design: use a serial row to im- plement a unique row id. All in all it's not really easy to implement applications in Wingz, but the results look *really* good ! -- # P.Mott; SNI D9 Hamburg; Ueberseering 33; 2000 Hamburg 60; GERMANY # Tel.: 49-40-6371/5918 priv.: 49-40-491 16 13 # mott@hhs313.d9.hamburg.sni.de # ...touch the screen !
