Hi, How do you tune the Kernel parameter SHMMAX in linux (Redhat)? Under SysV /etc/conf/bin/idtune would be used.. how is this done under linux? Neil. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own

With 2.1.x and 2.2.x you can access those parameters via /proc filesystem (echo <new value> >/proc/sys/kernel/shmmax).
For intel: /usr/src/linux-2.0.36/include/asm-i386/shmparam.h -- [Replies: remove the dot(s)] "Everything is permitted. Nothing is forbidden." WS Burroughs.
