RE: unloading table to tape!
You can unload just the table to TAPE in 5.X engine by using the tbunload command. It transfers binary data in PAGE UNITS (FASTER then unload). Only the data and index pages are unloaded. Access privileges, synonyms and associated views are not unloaded. During the unload the table is locked "EXCLUSIVELY". Also if you use this tape to restore a table as specified in the DBA Guide by Joe Lumbley run the tbcheck utility to insure data is okay! Hope this helps! Thanks for the French interpretation! C.L.
