Re: backing up more then one instance

I used Legato Networker with Informix 7.23 over Solaris 2.5.1. There is, of course, a $5000 add on package for the Legato to interface with the Informix DB (or any DB). Then feel the immense pain of learning the pitiful horrible stinky Legato admin interface. But after that you can back up as many instances as your licenses,network, drives and machine will allow, AND you can pay even MORE to Legato for multi machine backup interfaces, giant tape silos,etc. Once set up it seemed reliable. Legato's market mix reminds me of Oracles Byzantine money extracting marketing, and seems as effective, they have a big share of the market.
