JBoss AS connection status

Environment Linux running IDS 9.40.UC7 Want to add some code to JBOSS app server to test the connection to an informix instance every 15 seconds to make sure the JBOSS connection to the database is still good. If not free the connection and reconnect. What table is sysmaster should I be querying with out affecting the instance? I know oracle has a table called dual that can be used for this. Thanks Peter

short: sysmaster:sysessions long: you may want to fetch the sessionid using select dbinfo("sessionid") from systables where tabname ="systables"; use that to store it somewhere so you can match this against sysmaster:sysessions Superboer.
